Who is Logan?

In my childhood, I grew up in Brittany close to the ocean before moving to the city when I was in 9th grade.
As soon as I arrived in the city, I started to miss the ocean, the water, and the sounds of the waves. So, I decided to bring the water environment to me.

I imagined and designed my first pond when I was 12 years old and started to dig with my bare hands without knowing that this was the first day my passion would start. My creativity was already outstanding for my young age. I sought out some rocks around the property and utilized a forlorn dog house I found nearby.

Prior to building the pond I imagined, I had to beg my mom to break my piggy bank so I could get some materials and equipment. I already knew how to convince my audience by talking about the project and being so passionate about it. And here goes my first project in relation to water!

A couple of years later, I started my studies in landscaping and got a part-time job in a landscape company that helped me develop more skills and gain experience. Thanks to "Presse Paysage" I built my first ponds which revealed another passion: shaping and playing with water.

At age 20, I decided to devote my free time to learn more about pools and spas and decided to pursue training in this field.
In the early 2000s, the swimming pool and spa industry in France was not really recognized. There were only a few schools offering the possibility of learning in this field as well as finding employment in a specialized and competent company. That’s why I had to spend almost 20 hours a week on the road between my school, my business and my home.

During my training, I started to know more about the different steps of conception, the specification of materials and equipment. I naturally started to incorporate my ideas and knowledge into ordinary landscapes.

I graduated 2 years later and earned the reward of a silver medal in a national contest for the "best apprentice" in various areas relating to the pool and spa industry.

I have always had a lot of will and ambition so I dared to realize my very own project as soon as I graduated. My main goal was to bring all my knowledge into one and unique design, but it would also allow me to pursue my goal: live "The American Dream". It was a new challenge for me to show my creativity, passion, and dexterity combined to achieve new things.

Thanks to my determination, I came on my own for the first time in the USA right after achieving the project, with only a video of it, a suitcase, and 10% of English vocabulary.
As soon as I landed in California, I was welcomed by the awesome Blinkinsop family. During my one-month stay, I had the chance to travel across California and met several companies, showed them my portfolio.
After all those meetings, I got the chance to meet Matthew Naylor, the owner of Architectural Blue, a well-known landscape company in Palm Springs which I didn’t know anything about at the time.
As soon as we met, I felt a special connection and knew it was the one. After finding an agreement, I got the opportunity to start in October 2019 at Architectural Blue

The funny fact is that back then I did not know that Palm Springs was world-famous for its mid-century modern architecture and especially for the number of pools in town.

As soon as I arrived, I understood all the challenges that I will have to encounter to fit in my new life.
I had to go back to school and learn a new language, find a new place to stay, make some new friends, learn new ways to work, build a new trusting atmosphere around me… Basically, I had to start my life all over again!

After 6 months of immersion, my hard work paid off as I got promoted to the primary designer at Architectural Blue. Since that day, I want to know more about this country with travels, reading and helping others because I believe in humanity and when two cultures are meeting each other we are able to share our knowledge and improve things. This is what I care about.

Like I said, I am always striving for improvement as much in my personal life as in my work to make a place for myself in the pool industry but also in my new country.

I hope that my ability to renew myself and create new things will improve the comfort of my customers and will push me to become a great designer in outdoor living.
